Possible Debris Oil Pump
hello everyone, so here is my question for starters when i started my vg33 up for 30 seconds to a minute or so. It got no oil pressure and i am pretty sure due to leaking welds in oil pick up tube and found that the bearings and mains are okay. But and my only concern is when i pulled the pan off to investigate i found a 10mm nut size pile of some kind of power or grit/debris, either brass from the brass used to "try but failed" seal it or metal or some other power im unaware of sitting on the pick up tube and in oil pan directly under this hole in the oil pump…(like shown in the picture).
What i was wondering if i should worry about that "debris" plugging up the oil pump or being in the oil pump if that is even a possibility. If so is their a way to tell or clear the pump out with out taking it off? Honestly im only worried about taking it off because i don't have the gaskets if their is any that are needed to put it back on since parts take forever to get here and im close to my deadline. I just have no experience with these pumps so im not sure if i need to worry or not.
One theory i had was i dont need to worry because since the vg33 has an oil filter right on the pump that the debris would filter before it got to any bearings main or rod, or am i wrong?
Thank you very much for your time everyone
Pic- The red is showing the hole where the debris came out of (im not sure what it is their for) And is showing where their was a pile of debris sitting on the pickup tube..
Edit- Got a hold of a Haynes manual and discovered its not to hard to take the pump off and i actually have a gasket laying around for the pump. Only guessing i have now is, is it possible to clean the oil pump out? and what is the best way to do so. Have about 2 days left to mend the issue or possible issue and am having hard time of it or hard time deciding or figuring how ill clean the oil pump.Last edited by togofaster1126; 08-06-2016, 09:01 PM.
