I have tail lights but no Brake lights. Help?????

Anyone got a suggestion on why I have taillights when my park or headlights are on, but no brake lights at all. I figured that I would try and replace the brake switch mounted under the dash and see if that helps, but if it don't I have no clue what is going on. I need to go get the car inspected, but I know that it won't pass without brake lights. Please help. ANy and all advice is appreciated.

    No Brake lights at all

I just acquired my third Z after 9 years and I have no brake lights. I have taillights when I turn on my park lts/ headlights, but I have absolutely no brake lights when the pedal is pressed. Help????? I figure that I would replace the brake switch under the dash, and see if that fixes the problem. I do also know that the bumpers on the brake pedal are gone, but I fixed that with a couple of bolts into the holes with nuts on them. Please help

All fuses are good. I figured that I would take my fuse tester out to the car and check it with that.

i agree with Z bum, replace the switch, if it doesn't work try replacing the light switch. also make sure the inside of where the bulb goes isn't corroded to hell.

Okay, I have replaced the Brake switch under the dash, checked all fuses, and also checked the tail light sockets and still to no prevail I have no brake lights. Like I said my taillights are there but nothing when the pedal is pushed. I have no clue what is going on with the brakes.

I have turn signals, back up lights, and all the bulbs are just fine. None blown. I just do not know why I have no brake lights when the pedal is applied. The Tail light sensor is by the spare tire, isn't it? Isn't it located under the right taillight? I could be wrong though.

    Tail light sensor(s)

Did you replace the bulbs? Put the right (correct) bulbs in there?

Okay I have found where the sensor is supposed to be but the is no sensor there. The plug is there and has been jumped with wires across. SO whoever had the car before me took the sensor out of the car and did not replace it. Anyone got any suggestions about this? I will try and get a picture up here in a few

I just bought one off of eBay for $5. Should be here within a week. Is there a way that I can jump the harness to get my brake lights working until the part gets here? I would really like to go and get the car inspected and licensed. That is the only thing that is stopping me.

Got the brake lights to work. But know the car will not start. The battery is down to about 12v is what the gauge is showing. But it is acting like there is not any fuel to the injectors. Think I need a new battery? Could that be the cause of the car not starting? I had it on jumper cables with my other car, but it did not help very much

did you reverse the jumper cables?

is it actually cranking over? or it's just cranking and not starting?
