Wheel and Hub issue
Okay so hi, first time posting on here but have spent much time on the forum. I had recently purchased a 1984 z31 50th a.e, the previous owner replaced the motor and the current one only has 25,000 miles on it, owner was able to provide recipts for motor. We (my dad and I) test drove it and it rode fine, the car being all stock except for a turbo downpipe and blow off valve. The car did make a weird noise towards the back while shifting at times, which I read might be the diff. mount? But anyways, we drove the car 2hr+ back home fine, then the next day on my way to work THE WHOLE FRONT LEFT WHEEL CAME OFF OF IT! I was thankfully able to get it into a parking lot on the brake rotor and get it towed home but now what… I am un able to find the wheel, as it probably went in nearby river. I'm un able to really find a replacement wheel online, the car needs a new brake rotor definitely, as well as a new fender. I'm just looking for alittle guidance on what I should do to get her rolling again. Any input is much appreciated! -

If your looking to keep it all original with OEM wheels an all, than i would try looking at Craigslist in your area or Ebay. I found some A.E wheels in Austin TX for $300ish on Craigslist. So they pop up from time to time even tho I'm in Laredo. Now for your Wheel coming off, not sure what else broke. But some picture would be helpful for further advice someone can give you in the Forum itself. These guys in here are very helpful, kind enough to help a noobie like myself. -

I just saw on one of the Facebook groups someone has a set of AE wheels for $100. It's the Nissan Z31 300ZX buy/sell/trade group, title is Various Z31/Z32 parts. -

Assuming you're not trolling, uhh… so you were rolling on the brake rotor?? Really?
Well, you've definitely fucked the wheel bearings and probably the hub and spindle on that side, tie rod, ball joint, likely the control arm, wouldn't be surprised if you bent the front sway bar and maybe even your front crossmember and/or the frame rail.
You should have someone who knows what they are doing look at the car before you try to drive it again. "Where do I get another wheel" is prrrroooobably the smallest/cheapest problem you got right now. -

Yeah.. not trolling.. Main reason I want to get a wheel so I can atleast get it rolling to get towed to a shop instead of having to be pulled up onto a flatbed. I plan on getting it to my buddies shop as soon as possible. Thank you for the insight though -

Your local craigslist will probably have somebody selling something with five bolts and bald tires that you can get for $20. But don't put any more money into it until you get it looked at, you might be in a pretty deep hole here getting a car that will drive in a straight line again. -

Don't need to fear monger, the stress of driving on a rotor is not much higher than driving on a wheel…
Inspect and correct, replace what's bent or broken, that's it -
