wow, theres a tool for the spark plugs? rofl... learn something new every single day. I usually just use a spark plug socket and 2 8" extensions... my only problem is reseating the plug wires back onto the plug. I've gotten to where 6 plugs take me 10-15 minutes, the woman has it down to around 20 =) I may have to check that tool out when she gets home (I don't have a toolkit in my z31).

t70, gl with what you're doing... I'm not exactly a fan of the hood, but I'm pretty picky. I will always give someone props for the extensive time and effort that they put into something, even if it looks like shit. I've seen this quote a few places and I tend to live by it... something along the lines of

"If you didn't build it, it isn't really yours."

I believe someone on hybridZ had that as their sig. Anywho, keep at it for your customer!

I love that quote! As a side note -- the quote is really something that i've lived by for a long time to a large extent. My old 78 porsche 924 was truly mine (I had rebuilt or replaced everything except the front struts on that car right from the engine rebuild to the re-wiring to some of the body work) I loved that car with all my heart, it was even exactly the same age as me as it was also born in march. With regards to your opinion on the hood... You know.. i have to agree with you about it to a certain extent.. But it really suits the guy who owns the car. I prefer it with only one intake which is what we had before.. it was a little more subtle..

LOL I just read my post... I didn't mean to say YOUR hood looked like shit, I meant that aside of your work. Sorry! I was just trying to say no matter what it looks like, if it is something you like (or the person you're building it for) more power to you. The customization of cars and what not is to make it your own... be it something everyone likes or not. Hope I didn't come off too badly

              queston?
when are you gonna clean up the engine bay.
get your hood 100% clean and i think it will look nice,
but honestly ram-air on a zx?

The original hood had one external intake because i couldn't fit the intake under the hood with the original intercooler plumbing i had. So it just went from there. As for ram-air -- that's not really the purpose, as i recall, ram air at 80 mph is something like .6 psi.. not really going to improve matters much, but the colder the air.. the less likely it is to detonate. As for when i'm gonna finish it and make it look nice... probably over the winter when we put in new cams and valve springs and oversize valves etc... And cleaning the engine bay -- i did some of that today.. painted up the intercooler piping -- there's also a much bigger intercooler in there now too. Also got rid of the egr stuff. Looks a lot better now.. but there's gonna be a few other things removed as well and cleaned up. No pics right now... i've temporarily returned it to my buddy.. but i'll get some once we wash it.
