FS5R30A swap automatic 2 manual compatibility frontier pathfinder xterra z31 1985

    Hi there.

My question is which transmission from below is the best to swap.
Note: Where i currently live, there is NO way i can get them from a junk yard; the past week i went to a service car ?shop? where they can sell me one but i actually dont know which one to choose when in the FMS the bolt pattern looks alike.

    Frontier
    2001-2004 - Engine VG33E/VG33ER 2WD
    Pathfinder

While these all have the same bell housings to bolt up to the vg30/33, nothing else will work in terms of bolt on.
You will need a custom drive shaft and the shift hole made larger in your cabin.

These transmissions are no where near the same as the z31 30a.

On top of that all, the gearing ratios on these are truck oriented.

Thanks. I already have in mind those changes and the difference in the gear ratios(i will deal with this later).

If it isn't a bolt-in swap anyway, wouldn't it make more sense to troll around a bit for a good deal on a Z32 or Z33 transmission?

    The transmissions will not work!
The shifter will literally come out of the radio.

Yes, you are better off with the trans from the z32.

Honestly, get the z32 r30a. Much easier swap. Mostly all bolt on.

Probably cheaper too. Paid $250 for a low mile JDM Z32 r30A and the guy tossed in the driveshaft and short shift.

Here are some pics to give you an idea where the pathfinder shifter comes out. We installed a pathfinder 30a after grenading our 71c on track behind a stock 85t. We had a driveshaft made and I made a remote shifter setup.
