I read about them @ corky bell's book [maximum boost] {i never heard of them before} but i can see they are not very popular among the car community or are they?, what do you guys think about them?, have you seen one?

I've seen them on an NSX, looks like a small turbo  .
They are not very popular. I also believe they are no longer being made.
BEGI website says no longer available.
The Garrett ball bearing turbos work so well, and are available in large sizes people want. Aerochargers were very small.
Thats all I got.

The Aerochargers (that I believe he's talking about) are variable nozzle turbos... not electric. Are you guys talking about this type of setup? http://www.boosthead.com/product.php?id=18

yep, not electric stuff, the ones that you put oil and seal them and connect them in the system like any other turbocharger.1987 300zx, VG33, Manual, Megasquirt, 450cc, T04,Tial 44mm External WG, ebay IC, crushed dsm blowoff, Apexi AVC-R at 15psi, efan, 3" exhaust with dynomax muffler, LSD.

AeroCharger = Variable Area Turbine Nozzle (VATN) turbo
"Garrett Variable Area Turbine Nozzle (VATN) turbo reduces turbo lag with
dynamic variations to the area through which exhaust gases enter the
turbine housing. VATN turbos accelerate exhaust gases through small
nozzle size when exhaust energy is low to quickly spool the turbo, but
increase nozzle size as exhaust energy increases with boost and engine
RPM—thereby reducing backpressure as an adverse side effect as engine
output increases."

Man, that thing is kinda cool! too pricey right now though at 1600 bucks. That would work great on my stock 240sx!Lance 'never-ending 88na2t project' Landry

yeah right, the Eram electric supercharger is way better.

I can't remember the link, but there was an aussie site that reviewed it and the airflow was comparable to a computer cooling fan that they tested. I see the Eram advertised in ricer magazines in the back still to this day for ~500.Lance 'never-ending 88na2t project' Landry

 the Eram... definitely doesn't compare to those Thomas Knight setups. They're actually pretty cool and would theoretically be one of the most efficient forced induction setups out there. The only downside is it requires recharging after using it for a short period of time, which if used for 1/4 mile runs wouldn't be all that bad. Definitely wouldn't be good for autocross/road courses/etc.
