Rim Size Recommendations 87 300ZX Turbo

You may have done the research, but it obviously didn't sink in haha

The wider you go the more fitment challenges you run into, but if you're asking about how much tire to run for the power you have, you could run narrow slicks or wide garbage from china, grip is determined by a lot of factors

Staggered wheel setups are for looks, you won't be able to rotate tires, but as long as the total tire diameter remains the same, it doesn't matter what size you start with, use a tire calculator

You realize that price is per wheel right? If your budget is $2000, there are a fuck ton of options....

(most of which are better looking and fit better than these).

    Like what I got: http://www.summitracing.com/int/part…30sp/overview/ except +15

Minimum offset will change if you get coilovers like stance/powertrix as they are thicker than the original strut tubes, the only way you get more clearance is how my s13 coilover adapters work, which use a bracket to offset the strut body further in…

Get a clearance guage or make a template from cardboard and measure

Yes, I've actually never gone shopping for wheels - can you point me in the right direction.
The car is black - I kinda like black on the rims, with a silver lip - a dash of red couldn't hurt either.

I'm a believer in getting used wheels.... prices are so much better.

Wheels sized for a 94-04 Mustang fit quite well. You may need small spacers. I'm running 17x9 03 Cobras and have a 5mm in front and a 10mm in back (88T front suspension, 86T rear, ST springs all around). The rear one wasn't required to fit the wheels, just improved the look. The front was required as the wheel weights on the wheel were hitting the strut tube in front.

Prius… because Pretentious wouldn't fit across the back of the car…

Cheap, Fast, Reliable - pick any two

87 Turbo, stock suspension (Tokico Illumina's) and springs
which may be stronger than SS,

    17x8.5 5x114.3
    Offset:
    - front e13 to e34
    - rear e13 to e57

Based on the info above, would the following work?

    http://www.frsport.com/Enkei-396-885…g_p_20782.html

    OR

    http://www.frsport.com/Enkei-396-785…g_p_20770.html

I can also get these in:
    http://www.frsport.com/Enkei-396-890…g_p_20784.html

The only problem is the offset for 9" rims is:
    Offset:
    - front e20 to e27
    - rear e20 to e50

and these have an offset of 18" - which is less than the minimum - is that legal, will those two extra mm's bring the tires
too far out past the fender? A) can it work and B) will it look good.

Pretty sure 18x9 +18 should not stick out past the fender for front and rear. Maybe a few others can chime in and confirm.

One thing that's interesting, I was looking at the XXR's at one point and called the mfg. They told me some of their rims wouldn't work, even though the bolt pattern, offset's, rim sizes were correct - they wouldn't clear the calipers on the Z31. He than referred me to the groups of rims that are concave on the back to resolve this issue.

I would be surprised if any XXR's don't clear z31 calipers. Z31 calipers aren't that big.

Zbums chart should be used as a guide, not absolute truth.

    Enkei RPF1 in SBC finish

    17x9 + 22

Wrap them in 255/40 tires of decent quality

You will need a 10mm-15mm spacer in the front to clear the strut tube (tire will rub). You will also be able to clear z32 calipers no problem.

    Recap:
Purchase Enkei RPF1's 17x9+22 in SBC finish
    Wrap them in 255/40 tires
Install 50mm ichiba front wheel studs
    Install 10mm ichiba spacer
Purchase a set of tuner lug nuts of your choice (it will make life easier)
    Install on car
    Profit

If they dont have SBC in that size, just get the silver ones. You should be able to get all 4 wheels for around $1k

    Hey Adam,

    ended up going with:

    Enkei 396-890-6518SBC RP03 Wheel 18x9.0 +18 5x114.3 Special Brilliant Coating

    and

    Dunlop Direzza ZII 225/40/18

    What do you think?

I'm hoping I won't need any spacers. My stock is completely replaced, but stock
in the sense that it is not lowered.

I like rp03's a lot.. would have been a nice time to get a tire width upgrade too, 255's or thereabouts

I always recommend trying to get wheels that won't require spacers, both for brake and strut clearance
