    brake booster alternative

Is there another comparable brake booster available that will work with our cars? Preferably one with a smaller body diamter? After relocating the hx35, the exhaust is extremely tight passing the brake booster. It basically sits against it. Curious about other smaller options or some kind of idea. This is my first downpipe fabrication job so I have a lot to learn. The path I have ran will flow nicely but it's either a different booster or making an indention in the pipe to allow it to make it past the booster.

I know Mike G/Shamwow had issues after moving is motor 5in back. I cannot remember if he discussed it in his thread or somewhere else. I know he reached some sort of conclusion

    Sorry Guys

Ive been kinda dead on the forums for a while.

so as it turns out fitting a 280zx Booster was a total bitch for the following reasons.

    1) the bolt pattern is way different so you need to build a an offset spacer block with studs pointing out so it can be bolted into the Z31 holes.
    2) the BMC doesn't fit unless you slot the holes or use a 280zx one no big deal.
    3) it definitely is shorter in length but its actually quite a lot wider than a Z31 Booster.

    Advantages
    1) its rated and sized for a 15/16th Master as a Z31 rolled off the production line with.
    2) the early 280ZX boosters have those handy angle cut outs which give you additional clearance to objects like custom manifolds or exhausts
    3) even with an adapter block its quite a lot shorter than a Z31 booster.
    4) its still from a ZX so if you have asshole inspectors like in NZ you can just say you bought a replacement from a ZX parts guy.
