    All the holsets I have the tags are all on the compressor housing.
    I just took the numbers into a local cummins/ diesel place and they looked it all up!
    Even was able to give what year and size of the bus they came off of.
    Heck they even used the Hx 25 and 30 on tomato pickers.

    if they have the 10cm^2 HX30 turbine housing with internal gate, I'd love to get my hands on one.

    While we are on the subject I was looking into housings for my hx35/40 hybrid. What is a good A/R to shoot for with a vg33?

    That will depend on how soon you want to hit boost and how high you want to go… probably .82 range

    there is no .82 A/R housing for holset HX series.
    10cm2 = .73 A/R
    12cm2 = .89 A/R

    Would the 10cm choke out to early, and please forgive my lack of knowledge what would be a rough ceiling between the two, hp & rpm wise

    For what hp? Should provide quick spooling and 400 hp.
    Hmmm, Whats next?

    spool on the .89 is good for not losing traction at lower PSI like my current setting (8 to 10), but I'd like to have a bit better spool so if you're looking for response… I'd go with the 10cm2 housing on a holset. It would transform it into something more like a GT3071/76 rather than a GT3582, which is more like what the holset HX40/35 hybrids are closer too.

    Thanks for the info. I am not the super Revvy type, and I would prefer the better response. I just wasn't sure if it would fall on it's face at 5500 rpms with a 10cm housing. I hear these are a little hard to come buy though.

    10cm ? does this housing come with twin scroll and vband outlet?

    Cams are what's going to cause the powerband to fall off.

    I meant at 5.5k. Stock cams are to blame for that. Turbo wont change that.
