They are not private messages.

Those are visitor messages. Visitor messages were part of the last setup as well and they did show up in the Latest Activity.

Make sure you are clicking Private Message

Can we disable visitor msg? I don't think there's any particular need for them, much like the whole blog roll

Hmm.. stange. Every time i try to send message IE11 is asking if i want to save file.
After posting i need to refresh page becouse it does not do anything. I can't upload even pictures becouse of that. I had to start use Firefox.
I do not remember having this problem before.

Yes, using IE 11 does cause this issue.
Resolution: Put http://z31performance.com into IE 11 Compatibility View Settings. Close and restart IE 11.

Best solution, stop using IE before it gives you cancer lol

Two comments about this newer format (I don't want to go back through all 97 posts, so if you've addressed either of them, please direct me to the post #):

I've noticed that when someone edits their reply to a post, it generates a second notification message. Also, the notification messages don't clear the little counter at the top after they've been read like Facebook does. I'm assuming that is styled to emulate Facebook, so is there any way to do it correctly? It just requires more clicking to deal with it than is necessary.

Another thing about this new system I've noticed is that there is a significant latency between when I type a letter and when it shows up on the screen. I can actually type fast enough that it sometimes skips keystrokes. I am not a computer genius by any means (i.e. use of the word latency may be incorrect) but this is quite annoying. For long posts, I'm almost inclined to open a text editor on my computer, do all the typing in it, then copy/paste into this box. I've also noticed that sometimes the text editor gets confused when I hit certain keystrokes it does the wrong thing (Backspace and End for example). All of this feels like it's due to the way the editor operates. I am just registering my dissatisfaction with that part of the overall experience of using the website. I'll continue using it because it's absolutely the BEST place to get Z31 info… I just wanted to let you know.

Why does it keep timing out…it's beyond annoying.

Is that whays going on!? Lol i though i pissed an administrator off lol. Threads always seemed to close shortly after i posted..

Maybe now would be a good time to investigate other forum software, ie. not vb? How is phpbb doing these days?

FWIW I would contribute if we could get a solid forum that I can actually use… or if it would somehow help.
